For Cats
Triage is recommended in the
dietary management of the following conditions
- Immediate post surgical
malnutrition
- Respiratory infections
- Respiratory disease
- Digestive disorders
- Trauma
- Sepsis
- Burns
- Feline lower urinary tract
disease
- Chronic debilitating disease
- Gastritis, enteritis,
colitis
- Malnutrition
- Anorexia
- Cancer
- Fever
Triage provides extra
nutrition for critical care applications
- High energy density
- Increased energy in
smaller volumes
- 20% Branched Chain Amino
Acids (BCAA)
- Helps prevent the
breakdown of lean tissue during episodes of increased
energy requirements
- Fortified with B vitamins
- Microbial synthesis of B
vitamins may be depressed by antibiotic therapy,
anorexia, or diarrhea
- Well tolerated
Triage is easy to use and
versatile
- Low viscosity
- Facilitates small bore
tube feeding
- Convenient powder
- Mixes readily with water
- May be fed free choice,
oral syringe or feeding tube
- Low residue
- Results in lower fecal
volume and aids in decreased G.I. irritation
- Two year shelf life
- Reduced need for
frequent stock rotation
-
- Species specific
formulation
Triage is nutritionally
complete to support normal function
- Proper recommended calorie /
nitrogen ratio
- Supports protein
synthesis
- Fortified with major
minerals and trace minerals
- Provides nutrient needs
for maintenance and tissue repair
- Isotonic formulations
- Provides all required
nutrients including water without inducing osmotic
diarrhea
Nutritional intervention can
minimize disease related complications and shorten recovery time
Catabolism is a destructive
process by which complex substances are converted by the body
into more simple substances. If caloric intake is not sufficient
to prevent the catabolism of muscle tissue during recovery from
surgery, illness or injury, other treatments may become less
effective or useless. Nutritional intervention, when properly
managed, can help minimize disease related complications and
shorten recovery time.
The branched chain Amino Acids (BCAA) Isoleucine, Leucine and
Valine are primarily metabolized in muscle tissue and under
conditions of stress may be preferentially utilized to help meet
energy requirements of the catabolic animal. Oral administration
of BCAA’s helps to inhibit the release of Amino Acids from
muscle tissue. BCAA’s and in particular leucine may directly
stimulate muscle protein synthesis.
Triage Intensive Care Formula contains 20% branched chain amino
acids in a molar ratio of 1:2:1 (Iso Leucine, Leucine and Valine).
Triage is a clinically proven recuperative diet for dogs, cats
and other animals with similar requirements.
